The Hooded Eyes Makeup Manual is a phenomenal resource for the makeup novice to the seasoned professional and everyone in between! I have hooded eyes and they have been a challenge for me since I started wearing makeup 25 years ago. This is truly a comprehensive guide which includes basic anatomy and definitions, brush choices, application techniques, and much more. The tutorials are clear and concise. Stunning photographs feature throughout. I originally bought this as a gift for my sister and planned to kind of share it. After seeing it in person, I just went ahead and ordered my own copy. It is a fantastic resource for anyone, even if you don't have hooded eyes 😎

Very well-written and all of the step by step photos are super helpful. Also love that the book uses photos of the writer's own hooded eyes, as well as several others. You're sure to find an eye shape similar to your own this way. I like that variations of color and products were used, as well. Overall impressed!

A great book!! I finally learned how to do a smokey eye look!! I'm so excited to try more of the looks that were put together for the book by Courtney. Techniques for makeup application are completely different if you have hooded eyes. So if you've been following beauty guru makeup tutorials and feeling like you're missing something, this may be why!  Phyrra (AKA Courtney Nawara) is the queen of eye makeup looks for hooded eyes, and she's been working on this amazing book for over two years. There are tons of colorful, artsy and wearable looks in this guide.
I've struggled with hooded eyes for years, even giving up on eye makeup altogether because of them, but I love this manual. The author explains terms and identifies the brushes you need, including optional brushes. The instructions are complete and consistent.The author tells us what colors she used and the brands she used but also describes those colors so you don't have to go out and buy a whole bunch of new makeup, you can just use what you have if you have it. I also love the range of styles she shows, from looks appropriate for work to fun looks for a date night or just to try.I'm a newbie at this stuff and I found everything easy to follow along with at home, although my own technique needs a lot of polishing. This book is fun to practice with. There's enough consistency throughout the instructions that I feel over time I may even be able to come up with my own looks.
