Jaime wanted to be a werewolf. Unfortunately, he is also an omega and he is treated terribly, like a powerless plaything but the alphas in his pack so he wants out. He seeks a cure that will allow him to become human again, but turns out not to be what he wants after all. He meets Morgan, an alpha blinded by protesters at the police station after his brother is arrested and they become attracted to one another. As their relationship progresses each realizes he is what the other needs.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I liked that they had twins, I think that is so cute. What annoyed me the most in this book was that the author messed up names and mistakes like writing baby's instead of babies were made.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the romance between Morgan and Jamie. Morgan is an assistant to a politician and is proud to be a werewolf. When he and his boss were attacked by humans, Morgan was left blind. When Jamie was born an omega, he was used by his pack as a toy and suffered abuse. When Jamie had the opportunity to take a shot that would cure him of being a werewolf and be fully human, he wanted it. Afterward, Jamie became the spokesman for the company that made the drug, but he was miserable and wished he could go back to being a wolf. Jamie's little brother was against the werewolves and protested them and wanted them all to take the shot. When Jamie met Morgan, he stood up to him and Morgan was intrigued by Jamie. Both Jamie and Morgan were attracted to one another, but they both knew they could lose their jobs if they were to be found out for being with the enemy. Jamie and Morgan didn't care and began seeing each other in secret. Things were going well until Jamie became pregnant, when he thought was impossible because he was now human and Morgan was a wolf. Morgan learned there was more to the shot than Jamie thought and with Jamie's brother getting worse in his actions against the wolves, danger was around the corner. I loved this story. I loved Jamie and Morgan. I think they loved each other, but they had so much against them. Morgan was against the humans as much as some were against him. Morgan had a lot of anger over his blindness he didn't even realize and Jamie needed to get over his past abuse and learn to trust not all wolves were bad. Another good from Liam.
This was a fun enemy to lovers story about two people who didn't think they would ever find love, especially with one another . Jamie ran away from his family and then his old pack life after being mistreated and only seen as a helpless omega only good for one thing to them. He decided to be a part of a new drug trial that turned him into human and was suppose to give him a better life where he could be seen as someone other than just an omega who was suppose to follow an alphas commands. He became the face for a company known as ap and even though it appeared like the drug made his life better on TV, it wasn't really the truth. He managed to run into an alpha named Morgan who he automatically felt attraction to and he couldnt figure out why the alpha was so drawn to him in the way he was and why he kept calling him an omega when he wasnt one anymore. Jamie already knew working for the company wasn't for him anymore and being around Morgan made him realize that even more. soon the truth comes out about the the company hes working for and there were even secrets they were hiding from him. Morgan didnt know who the first omega but he knew he seemed familiar and decided he had to find out everything there is to know about the omega even if he was working for the enemy. This was a sweet mpreg romance and It really held my attention. Morgan and Jamie knew they were risking everything being together but their love for each other was too strong for them to let it come between them. I finished this one in one sitting!
*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's*3.5 starsI had mixed feelings about this one ; there were things I liked and things I felt needed more developing.Morgan was sweet and I really liked him but I can’t say I actually connected with him. His background was slightly touched upon but I wanted that little bit more to get a truer insight into his character.Jamie came across like a broken record. He was unhappy that much was clear but he dwelled and moped to the point, I actually got annoyed. He didn’t take any steps to change his life to make it better.Morgan and Jamie had great chemistry and the author captured the intensity of their attraction perfectly.I was a little surprised that the organisation that Jamie worked for didn’t do much when they found out about him dating a wolf. I thought they would threaten him because he was going against everything they stood for.Overall, this was a good read.
I have no idea why this book is titled 'The Guardian'. Neither Jaime nor Morgan did anything in the book that was particularly guardian-like, and I don't recall that specific term ever even used in the book.If a PA to a senator could figure out that Antilyc wasn't really a cure, then why weren't they being debunked all over the place? And if the drug is only suppressing the lycanthropy gene, wouldn't Jaime have to have more than one injection to keep it suppressed? Also, if a simple scratch can transmit lycanthropy, what happened to Nichols? And why don't we hear about some random werewolf deciding to go on a scratching spree among the haters?Overall, I liked the characters in this book, but I felt that the worldbuilding left a lot to be desired. I didn't find the world, and some of the characters, to be internally consistent.I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
